Rev. Dr. Arthur H. Mitchell, D.Min.

A native of Alabama, Reverend Dr. Arthur Mitchell was born on the historic campus of Tuskegee Institute at John A. Andrews Hospital. He is the proud husband of Natasha Camille Mitchell, and together they have been blessed with two wonderful children, Jayden and Jadah.

Pastor Mitchell’s lineage of faith is deeply rooted in his family history, with ancestors who served as deacons, teachers, and community leaders, embodying the principles of servant leadership. This legacy has profoundly shaped his ministry and his personal commitment to live out the teachings of Matthew 20:28: “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Pastor Mitchell’s educational journey began at Troy State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources in 1996. He went on to spend over a decade in Corporate America as a human resources professional, gaining valuable experience in leadership and organizational development.

Answering the call to ministry in 2008, Pastor Mitchell transitioned to theological studies, receiving his Master of Divinity with a double concentration in Homiletics and Christian Ethics from the prestigious Morehouse School of Religion at The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in 2013.

Ordained in 2017 at Springfield Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Eric W. Lee, Jr., Pastor Mitchell faithfully served in various ministry roles, continually exemplifying his dedication to God’s work. His service extends beyond the church, with impactful contributions to organizations such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Atlanta, where he served on the Advisory Board; the Rockdale County Public School Foundation as a member and Co-Chair; City of Refuge Atlanta; and the South Africa Cultural Enrichment Program, where he served as a student ambassador. These roles highlight his commitment to fostering meaningful connections within and beyond the local community.

On November 17, 2024, Reverend Dr. Arthur H. Mitchell was called to serve as the newly installed pastor of Friendship Baptist Church. With a legacy of dedication to the Gospel, a passion for serving others, and a commitment to leading with wisdom, humility, and compassion, Pastor Mitchell’s vision is clear: to equip, empower, and engage disciples for transformational ministry. He firmly believes in cultivating a culture where discipleship extends beyond the church walls, fostering relationships that bring about lasting spiritual and social change.

Pastor Mitchell’s ministry is defined by his relational leadership philosophy, which integrates traditional values with contemporary relevance. He is devoted to creating spaces for spiritual growth, equipping believers to operate in their spiritual gifts, and ensuring that the Gospel of Jesus Christ reaches every corner of the community. Under his leadership, Friendship Baptist Church embarks on a new chapter of faith, hope, and service, guided by a shepherd who is deeply committed to God and His people.
Reverend Dr. Arthur H. Mitchell continues to inspire and lead with a servant’s heart, building on his foundation of faith and his unwavering desire to make a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God.
